Edwin, High King of Britain by Eduardo Albert

Edwin, the deposed King of Northumbria, is seeking refuge at the court of his friend, King Raedwald of East Anglia. At his lowest point and running for his life, he stumbles upon a man who tells him that he will rise again. As Edwin regains his lands and throne and marries, he begins to think upon these words. His wife's priest begins to change his heart, but Edwin speaks for his kingdom. As he unites the separate kingdoms,  he fights for his faith, and country.

This was a really good book. The cultures were harsh, but understandable. The English kingdom is being born in this book, but not without treachery, betrayal and fighting. A really enjoyable book.
