The Lady of the Rivers by Philippa Gregory

Jacquetta of Luxembourg is married to John, Duke of Bedord, brother to King Henry V. Though their marriage is short lived, Jacquetta soon becomes the highest woman in England. When she becomes fast friends with Henry VI's wife, Margaret of Anjou, Jacquetta along with her new husband, Baron Rivers Richard Woodville, become involved in the running of England. As Henry becomes more unstable and Richard, Duke of York, more powerful, England begins her descent into The War of The Roses.

I started the Cousins' War series with Lady of the Rivers, as it takes place first. I enjoyed the read. Margaret was grating, but Jacquetta's devotion to her was touching. I also enjoyed the foreshadowing a lot too! Good read.
