Royal Inheritance by Kate Emerson

Audrey Malte grew up believing she was King Henry's tailor's "merry begot" daughter. Her fiery red hair and King Henry's treatment of her leave others questioning this. When Audrey starts to question her father and his lies, Sshe begins to search for answers.  Her search leads her to friends and a lover, but sparks her enemies interests. When Audrey learns the truth, it could destroy her happiness and cost her life.

This is my first Kate Emerson book. I was intrigued with her choice of subjects and wasn't disappointed. Audrey was just the right mix of questioning and sentimental. Her story wasn't unusual, but Emerson made it special. I loved how Audrey's story was real, warts and all. I really enjoyed it.
