Sisters of Treason by Elizabeth Freemantle

After the execution of the beloved and pious sister and short lived queen, Jane, the Grey sisters become more involved in the English Court. Catherine is the imperious one, while quiet Mary seems to be closer to Elizabeth. Their one friend at court seems to be artist Levina Teerlic. As the Grey sisters balance their lives, loves and freedom, readers hold their breath.

I enjoyed this book, as the focus was on the surviving Grey sisters. Mary especially gets swept under the rug. But in this novel both girls have an equal voice, though I far preferred quiet Mary. I loved their yearning for freedom. I also enjoyed seeing Levina's life, with all its ups and downs. I really enjoyed this book!
